LUCKY WITH YOU 幸運有您

It didn’t take long for Price Bloodstock to strike the first blow of the new Hong Kong season, as Lucky With You threw down a marker for the early sprints at Sha Tin on Sunday.
With Zac Purton aboard, the David Hayes-trained five-year-old scored a tough victory down the straight at short odds after giving his supporters a few concerns in a head to head battle.
“It was a good effort,” Purton said. “It was his first run of the season, he was out on his feet at the 300m. He had to dig deep – he did that – and then he obviously ran out of puff. He’ll improve from that.”
It was win five from 11 starts for Lucky With You, taking his stake earnings past #7 million and Hayes believes the best is yet to come as the gelding moves up to the top races.
“I think he’s better at 1,200m. With cover, 1,200m is his go. I know he only fell in today, but I think he can be Group class ridden with cover,” Hayes said, and has the Premier Bowl in late October in mind as the gelding’s immediate big target. “There’s also the National Day Cup on October 1. He’ll get into these Group races with minimum handicaps so they look attractive for a horse with his talent. The National Day Cup might come too soon. We’ll see how Lucky With You pulls up after this race, and then decide. I don’t want to over race him early because I want him for the whole season.”
