RIGHT CALL & NOTHINGILIKEMORE
22nd January 2017
A winning double at Sha Tin on Sunday kept the counter ticking over on Price Bloodstock’s race to 500 Hong Kong wins and winner 489, Nothingilikemore, left the impression that he is headed for better things after his debut victory.
John Size trained both Price Bloodstock winners, with honest galloper Right Call posting his third win and pushing through $2 million in stakes an hour before a highly-impressive debut from Nothingilikemore.
“Right Call just found his right race today. Joao Moreira got the front and controlled the tempo and nothing else went near him to upset him and he kept on going,” Size said. “He’s a horse who does need it all to go right for him to win his races and he was a bit flattered by the margin, but there’s nothing wrong with his consistency and he’s only missed a prizemoney cheque five times in his career after 16 starts now. He goes back to Class Three, which he has found tougher in the past but I’m hopeful he can win one there if it all falls into place.”
Nothingilikemore had plenty of practice at the trial sessions before Ryan Moore climbed on for the Husson three-year-old’s debut but he has obviously learned plenty in them.
“I thought his trials were mostly pretty good and he’s brought that to the races, which not all horses do at their first run,” Size observed. “There was a very strong pace in front and that probably helped him as a run-on horse, but he still had to be ready and have decent ability to win the way he did and I liked how he ran through the line. He looks to have a future.”
